Eisenhower
had just defeated Stevenson. Charlton
Heston starred in the Oscar winning
movie "Greatest Show on Earth," and
Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly starred
in the now classic "High Noon." Fads
included white bucks, beehive hairdos
cemented with Dippity Do, poodle skirts,
cinch belts and Davey Crocket caps.
People watched the television age
begin with shows like The Ed Sullivan
Show and Our Miss Brooks.
In
Portland, Oregon, Murray and Gene
O'Lee Dow opened a rug cleaning business
called "Dow Columbia, Inc." Their
specialty was cleaning Oriental rugs.
Insurance companies soon started sending
more business to Dow to restore smoke
damage - and we never stopped. In
1960, they moved Dow Columbia to its
present location on S.E. Division,
where they still serve the community
today.
After 50
years, Dow Columbia is still family
owned and operated. Reed Dow, with
33 years in the business, is Chief
Executive Officer. Darrin Dow, with
20 years, is Chief Operating Officer.
Both have earned their credentials
as Certified Restorers and together,
they carry on the family tradition
of first rate service.
We've
continued to expand and improve our
services for the 21st Century. Today
Dow deploys cutting edge drying technology
and sophisticated hazardous material
equipment to handle every job. Our
technicians are trained in the latest
mold abatement techniques and infrared
detection methods. And we've NEVER
forgotten our original dedication
to good, old-fashioned service, nor
have we forgotten who's made us what
we are today... people like YOU!
